Communities in the West have a long history of diversity, multiculturalism and solidarity.

We reject the Federal Government's attempt to isolate and marginalise the African community in Australia, and its targeting of the Sudanese community in particular.

We welcome African migrants and refugees and celebrate their valuable contributions to our local community.

We have many cultures but we have one community, glued together with solidarity and friendship, and enriched through its diversity.

The Western suburbs say no to racism and calls upon the Federal Government to:

  • increase Australia's overall refugee intake
  • reinstate the humanitarian refugee intake from Africa
  • stop the racist attacks on the Sudanese and African communities
  • provide the support and resources all migrants and refugees need to build new lives in Australia

Come and celebrate our multiculturalism and support the African-Australian community!

Organised by local residents, artists and community organisations.
